Compared to Disclosure, Dua Lipa, Halsey, Depeche Mode and Soft Cell, Sugar Addikt embraces the dancefloor vibe by blending tech, house, trance, and pop to create the eclectic nature of their sound. Vocals tie this together in a way that feels outright fun to listen and dance to. Not one to back down from difficult conversations, lead song-writer and vocalist Vanessa Littrell tackles topics such as mental health, relationships and survival.

With their debut EP Phoenix, Sugar Addikt juxtapositions “propulsive dance pop” (Beach Sloth) with heart felt lyrics and ideology. Rising from the ashes is the foremost concept behind the album and is reflected in titles such as “Change It” “Shackles” and “New Dawn.” The goal is to imbue a pertinent message while still creating an anthemic dance vibe.

On Chasing Orbits, Sugar Addikt’s second EP (August 2022), Vanessa is joined by Mario Inchausti, a force de’jour in his own right. Backing vocalist and instrumentalist to heavy hitters Shakira, Gladys Knights and others, Mario’s vast musical experience brings out the nuances of Vanessa’s voice, lyrics and score, developing a cinematic sound throughout.
